The formation of the empty clathrate-hydrate structure is of prime interest in gas hydrate research. This phase can be obtained by pumping out the small guest molecules from the filled clathrate. The most promising starting material is H2-hydrate due to the small size of H2-molecules. The formation route of this phase was a main subject of the proposal: 14100881-ST but due to the technical issues could not be realised (for details, please see the preliminary report). Here we resubmit the earlier proposal updated with the information acquired in the 14100881-ST experiments. The formation will be established by in-situ diffraction using the HZB hydrogen (here substituted by D2) pressurising system. Formed clatharte will be loaded with D2 gas and discharged under well defined p-T conditions to investigate in- and out-migration of guests between cages. Lattice constant will be measured in the range from 10 to 260K.
