This project presents the first chromosomal-level genome assembly of the bay scallop, Argopecten irradians, obtained from New York. The assembly provides a complete genomic profile of the species, offering critical insights into the evolutionary patterns and adaptive abilities of marine bivalves. Achieving this level of detail in the genome assembly enhances our understanding of molluscan genomic science and establishes a crucial tool for addressing environmental and pathogenic challenges in marine ecosystems.
