There are seven highly productive core funded structural biology groups at the Francis Crick Institute, including the team within the Structural Biology Science Technology Platform who collaborate with other groups. Additionally two groups at Durham University add to the research to be undertaken. We are extremely dependent on continual access to the excellent facilities at European synchrotrons for our work. These MX groups employ a range of biophysical and structural techniques to understand the science behind protein complexes involved in fundamental cellular systems and disease processes. Additionally, the Morris lab at Durham University has a potential future project utilising the HPMX facility.
