The present dataset provides extensive historical phenotypic data from nine genebanks as a MIAPPE compliant data set, in an easily human-readable, tabular (Excel) format.
This dataset encompasses data collected between 1967 and 2022 at various sites in Europe and North Africa. It contains phenotypic data from 43,293 wheat accessions, encompassing 460,399 data points across 52 traits, including the three core traits of plant height, heading time, and thousand kernel weight from seven decades. Besides the raw data, the statistical outcomes (heritabilities and BLUEs) of analysed traits are included for each genebank, to enable further use for research and breeding. See the README file for more information.
IPK and CRI data are not included in this dataset.
IPK data was already analysed and published by N. Philipp et al. (2019-03-19) and is available at the following DOI : https://doi.org/10.5447/ipk/2019/11.
The CRI data was already packaged and published as an FDO at the following DOI: https://doi.org/10.5447/ipk/2024/6
This dataset was used as input data for the AGENT historic_pheno_data_analysis (https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.15343013). It was also further currated and packaged as Fair Digital Object (http://dx.doi.org/10.5447/ipk/2025/11) This dataset was compiled under the H2020 Activated Genebank NeTwork (AGENT) project to facilitate collaborative research on wheat phenotyping across diverse genebanks.
