The dual RNAseq approach was used to gain insight into the infection-related processes triggered by Methanosarcina spherical virus infecting Methanosarcina mazei. To our knowledge, this approach has not been used to study an archaeon virus system before. Study-related data contribute to a better understanding of virus infection in methanogens.
