Data and scripts produced to carry out the study "The coupled uncertainties in carbon dioxide removal and transient climate response to cumulative CO2 emissions" by Di Natale et al. 2025.
This material is needed to reproduce this study.
Data can be found in the link shared here.
Scripts and README file are directly uploaded here.
Read the README.md file for detailed information on how to reproduce this study, and to know the content of data and scripts.
The data include:
University of Victoria Earth System Climate Model (UVic ESCM) outputs: tsi.nc (globally-averaged time series output) for each simulation done, and tavg.nc (spatial output) data for historical experiments. Each file contains combined ~300 runs of the single simulation. Description of the length of each simulation is in the Manuscript. These data are either directly used and analyzed, to produce plots, or fed to MCMC and GP emulators, together with the observational data.
Observational data: vertical profile of ocean variables to compared to the vertical profile of corresponding variables in the UVic ESCM. They are used to constrain the emulators. SAT and CO2 observation are also plotted to compare observations and historical emulated UVic ESCM outputs.
Emulated model outputs (through the use of MCMC and GP emulators): each simulation has 10000 realizations, which allow to explore a larger PPE ensemble (300 UVic ESCM runs). They are analyzed and used to produce plots for the Manuscript.
