Sediment echosounder (Teledyne Parasound P70 echosounder) data are generally retrieved to get information on the characteristics of the upper tens of meters of the sub-seafloor. Raw primary high frequency (PHF) and secondary low frequency (SLF) echo sounding data were retrieved during POLARSTERN cruise PS128 (EASI-1) and are archived here in ASD and PS3 format. During POLARSTERN cruise PS128, Parasound data formed the basis for determination of appropriate coring locations. The entire dataset of cruise PS128 is archived here, including data from international waters off South Africa to off Antarctica, with special emphasis on the key locations offshore Ekström Ice Shelf, and from Lazarew Sea, through Riiser-Larsen Sea, Cosmonaut Sea to Cooperation Sea.
