Here are listed the disability-related initiatives by the CDN: 1. “Una Mirada Diferente Festival” (from 2012 to 2020): This annual festival, organized by the CDN, showcased performances exploring disability and inclusivity. Since 2020, the performance productions intended for the Festival “Una Mirada Diferente” have been incorporated into the regular programme of the Valle-Inclán and María Guerrero theatres. 2. Collaborations and Productions: The CDN actively collaborates with theatre companies, organizations, and artists dedicated to disability-inclusive theatre. 3. Educational Programs: The CDN offers educational programs and workshops that engage people with disabilities in performance arts. 4. Accessibility Initiatives: The CDN strongly emphasizes making its performances accessible to all audiences. Thanks to the collaboration with Teatro Accesible, the CDN offers a programme with accessibility adapted for people with hearing and visual disabilities. The following services are available for all performances: - Individual magnetic loop - Amplified sound with headphones - Accessible seating options to accommodate persons with disabilities Accessible performances will also have: - Adapted overtitling - Audio description 5. Awareness and Advocacy: The CDN uses its platform to raise awareness about disability-related issues and advocate for greater inclusivity in the arts. They promote dialogue and discussion on topics such as disability rights, representation, and the role of the arts in fostering understanding and empathy.
