Study of Magnetic Features in WQeakly Mn-Doped ZnGeP2

DOI

Continued investigation of magnetic fluctuations in the Mn-doiped chalcopyrite semiconductor ZnGeP2 is proposed using LF-MuSR depolarization rates. Due to ferromagnetism above room temperature ZnGeP2:Mn is a candidate for spintronics applications. In RB-1120240 using EMU, we detectedmagnetic fluctuations leading up to the FM transition (claimed Tc of 312K) and a second set of fluctuations leading to the AFM transition near 47K. An additional feature is seen within the FM phase near 150K, thus far unidentified. Near each transition the LF rates became too fast to be properly characterized in the fields available; Thus, we request use of HiFi to obtain higher magnetic fields to slow the relaxation rates to a range where they can be followed through to critical region for both the FM and AFM transitions. We also also further explore the extra LF relaxation feature within the FM phase.
