Accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS) C-14 ages were obtained for nine samples using calcareous tests of single species of the planktonic foraminifer G. sacculifer. Marine isotope stage boundaries were identified using the d18O curve of benthic foraminifer shown in Fig. 3 and ages of Martinson et al. (1987), doi:10.1016/0033-5894(87)90046-9 are followed with a modification of MIS 3.1 as suggested by Grootes and Stuvier (1997), doi:10.1029/97JC00880.
