Segregation of Zwitterionic Surfactants in PVA Film and Influence of Compatibility

DOI

Migration and segregation of small molecules in complex polymer matrices is relevant to a huge range of industrial problems which we aim to address via a coordinated series of experimental, computational and theoretical methods in large EPSRC/Industry programme. Here, we focus on the influence of surfactant hydrophobicity (via systematic alteration of alkyl chain length) and matrix hydrophilicity (via degree of hydrolysis of PVA resin). Our proposed NR experiments will isolate these factors and measure the time dependent evolution of surfactant segregation.
