Das Projekt Infra4NextGen wird von der Europäischen Kommission finanziert, um eine evidenzbasierte Politikgestaltung im Einklang mit dem Plan NextGenerationEU zu unterstützen. Die harmonisierten Daten von I4NG: Make it Green! integriert Einstellungen und Verhaltensweisen zum Thema Umwelt aus fünf großen europäischen länderübergreifenden Umfrageprogrammen: der European Values Study (EVS), der European Social Survey (ESS), dem International Social Survey Programme (ISSP), dem Eurobarometer (EB) und der European Quality of Life Survey (EQLS) sowie neuen Daten, die über das CRONOS-3-Panel erhoben wurden (erscheint in der zweiten Version der harmonisierten Daten). Der Datensatz umfasst themenspezifische Messgrößen in Bezug auf Wahrnehmungen, Einstellungen, Erwartungen und politische Präferenzen hinsichtlich ökologischer Nachhaltigkeit und Klimaschutzmaßnahmen und deckt Konzepte wie Wirtschaft und Umwelt, Energie, Umweltprobleme und -bedrohungen, Umweltverantwortung, Bereitschaft und Aktivismus ab. Der Datensatz umfasst 14 harmonisierte Zielvariablen. Im Rahmen des Harmonisierungsprozesses wurden die Items aus den verschiedenen Erhebungen zusammengeführt und die Kodierung, Skalenrichtung und Strukturen für fehlende Werte über alle Quellvariablen hinweg standardisiert. Es werden ein harmonisierter Erhebungsmodus und drei Gewichtsvariablen bereitgestellt. Alle Quelldaten stammen aus öffentlich zugänglichen Erhebungen, die bei GESIS, SIKT und dem UK Data Service archiviert sind.

The Infra4NextGen project is funded by the European Commission to support evidence-based policymaking aligned with the NextGenerationEU plan. As part of the project, harmonised datasets from major European cross-national survey programmes are being produced to increase sample size and coverage and to provide comparable indicators across five NextGenerationEU themes. The I4NG Harmonised Data: Make it Green! integrates environmental attitudes and behaviours from five major European cross-national survey programmes: the European Values Study (EVS), the European Social Survey (ESS), the International Social Survey Programme (ISSP), the Eurobarometer (EB), and the European Quality of Life Survey (EQLS) along with new data collected through the CRONOS-3 panel (forthcoming in the second version of harmonised data). The dataset includes topic-specific sets of measures related to perceptions, attitudes, expectations, and policy preferences regarding environmental sustainability and climate action, covering concepts such as Economy and Environment, Energy, Environmental Problems and Threats, Environmental Responsibility, Willingness and Activism.The dataset includes 14 harmonised target variables. The harmonisation process merged the items across surveys, and standardised coding, scale direction, and missing-value structures across all source variables. A harmonised survey mode and three weight variables are provided. All source data derive from publicly available surveys archived at GESIS, SIKT, and the UK Data Service.

European Social Survey (ESS): All persons aged 15 and over who live in private dwellings in the country, regardless of citizenship, language or legal status. European Values Study (EVS): Resident population aged 18 and over in private households for most waves. International Social Survey Programme (ISSP): Adults (usually 18+) in national samples living in private households, depending on country. Eurobarometer (EB): National samples of residents: typical age range is 15+ (or country-adult population) but requires checking each wave/country. European Quality of Life Survey (EQLS): Residents of the country and general adult population (18 years and older).
