Sequence availability of mitochondrial genome data from freshwater fish species provides crucial support for ongoing conservation efforts. The Freshwater Fish Mitochondrial Genome Projects aims to provide extensive mitochondrial genome data from freshwater fish with a focus on conservation of North American species.
