Die ländliche Bevölkerung in Hochgebirgen gilt als besonders verwundbar gegenüber den Folgen des Klimawandels, so dass zahlreiche Projekte und Programme aufgelegt werden, um ihnen eine Anpassung daran zu ermöglichen. Die Handlungslogiken und Lebenswelten der lokalen Gruppen erscheinen jedoch häufig als befremdlich und unverständlich, da ihre Wissenssysteme nicht ausschließlich den rational-westlichen Logiken folgen. Darüber hinaus sind die Auswirkungen des Klimawandels auf lokaler Ebene eng verknüpft mit den jeweiligen gesellschaftlichen Dynamiken und Machtverhältnissen. Damit wird Klimawandel zu einem vielschichtigen Problem, das vielfältige Lösungsstrategien verlangt.

Climate change in the life world and rationale of action of rural people in high mountains areas: Perspectives from Callejón de Huaylas, Peru: The rural population in mountain regions is considered to be particularly vulnerable to the consequences of climate change. Numerous projects and programmes are set up to enable local people to adapt to it. However, rationale of action and life worlds of the local groups often appear strange and incomprehensible, as their epistemologies do not exclusively follow rational-western logics. Moreover, the effects of climate change at the local level closely link to respective social dynamics and power relations. Thus, climate change is becoming a multifaceted problem that requires a variety of solution strategies.
