H2 and D2 are simple systems which can be used to bench mark the accuracy of VESUVIO measurements. Previous measurements performed in 2008 indicate the presence of an intensity anomaly of the H peak which depends upon angle - the only angularly dependent H cross-section which has been observed since the upgrade of VESUVIO in 2008. However this measurement was performed in the presence of a large gamma background which was not well understood at the time. THis problem has now been rectified and we wish to repeat the H2 measurement to check that the observations are not due to any instrument artefact. THe momentum distribution of the proton and deuteron in these systems has not been previously measured and is of fundamental interest. Furthermore the intensity measurements of these systems could be the key to understanding the intensity anomalies observed on VESUVIO
