The purpose of this study was to learn about the problems and pitfalls of tourist interviewing, and to gain familiarity with the methodology.

Main Topics:

Place of residence (distance from Morecambe), method of transport, time of arrival/departure. Reason for visiting Morecambe, last place visited for a day trip, activities during day trip, places visited in Morecambe during stay - suggested improvements. Changes noted in Morecambe since first visit (where applicable). People respondent was spending the day with, expenditure. Background Variables: age, sex, occupation of head of household.

Systematic: interviews were carried out at 4 fixed interviewing points along the promenade (over seven days)
