The participants in this cohort are individuals with breast cancer and metastatic disease coming to the Department of Oncology in Lund for treatment since 2003. The data collection in the study is still ongoing. From all individuals, there is information about the status of the primary tumor, metastatic sites, tumor volume, and treatments. There are also paraffin-embedded tissue from primary tumor saved from all individuals, and for a subset of the cohort also frozen primary tumor tissue saved. There is DNA, plasma and serum saved from all individuals. Purpose: To find tumor markers or tumor cells in the blood from patients with metastatic breast cancer. Data collection was started in 2003 and is ongoing (in 2010 there were over 300 individuals included in the study).

Deltagarna i denna kohort är individer som har drabbats av metastaserande bröstcancer och som sedan 2003 har kommit till onkologen i Lund för behandling. Insamlingen till studien pågår fortfarande. Från alla individer finns det information om status för den primära tumören, metastaslokal, tumörvolym, samt vilken/vilka behandlingar de har genomgått. Det finns även paraffininbäddad primärtumör sparad från alla individer, och för en subgrupp av kohorten har fryst primärtumörvävnad sparats. DNA, plasma och serum finns sparat från samtliga individer. Syfte: Att hitta tumörmarkörer eller tumörceller i blod från patienter med metastaserande bröstcancer. Insamling i studien startade 2003 och är pågående (antal individer uppgick till drygt 300 år 2010).
