Ablation Stake Measurements at Schiaparelli Glacier, Cordillera Darwin, Chile, 2013-2019

DOI

The data set contains measurements of ablation stakes installed at the frontal part of Schiaparelli Glacier, Cordillera Darwin, Chile. These measurements were conducted by drilling stakes into the ice with a steam drill. Reading and new installation of the stakes was performed in field campaigns roughly half-yearly to yearly. The resulting melt out of the stakes gives information of the total surface melting over the respective period. Unrealistic readings have been excluded. The data set gives the name, latitude at installation (latitude), longitude at installation (longitude), installation date (Date_install), reading date (Date_read) and total ablation (ablation).
