Aerial images of sea ice surfaces recorded for the project TEMPO joining PS106 campaigns PASCAL and SiPCA north of Svalbard in May/June/July 2017

The dataset contains aerial RGB images and supplementary data of scientific helicopter missions during Polarstern cruise PS106/1 - PASCAL and PS106/2 - SiPCA. Measurements were performened within the secondary user project TEMPO. Focus of the helicopter flights was on recording melt pond development in its early phase of the summer season. Images were recorded downwards every 4 seconds with a CANON EOS 1D Mark III DSLR + CANON EF 14mm f/2.8L II USM lens.
