These data were collected throughout the growing season of 2018 within the Cole Farm watershed at the Susquehanna Shale Hills Critical Zone Observatory. These datasets include soil porewater chemistry collected from suction lysimeters and hand sampled soil carbon dioxide (pCO2) and oxygen (pO2) concentrations.Concentrations of geogenic anions (measured by IC) and cations (measured by ICP-AES) within soil porewaters were measured every three weeks over the 2018 growing season at the ridgetop (CFRT), eastern midslope (CFEMS), western midslope (CFWMS), and valley floor (CFVF) hillslope positions at 20 cm below the soil surface and directly above the weathered bedrock. Soil pCO2 and pO2 were measured every three weeks over the 2018 growing season from CFRT, CFEMS, and CFWMS positions. Soil gases were collected from gas wells installed at 20 cm and 40 cm below the soil surface in addition to directly above weathered bedrock when a sample could be obtained. These data were collected to characterize the feedback between soil respiration and mineral weathering within a mixed-lithology watershed (Cole Farm).
