Euthynnus affinis genome sequencing project

Kawakawa Euthynnus affinis is a tuna-like species widely distributed across the temperate waters of the Indo-Pacific region where it makes up a substantial proportion of fisheries. Besides, closed-cycle aquaculture of the species has been recently introduced. To enhance both fundamental and applied research on E. affinis and to accelerate its genetic breeding programs, we carried out sequencing and assembly of E. affinis genome.
