These files consist of data and Matlab code needed to reproduce the main figures from Experiments 1, 2, and 3 of “Learning to stand with sensorimotor delays generalizes across directions and from hand to leg effectors”. Data and results include standing balance behavior quantified with different metrics (angular velocity variance, percent time within balancing limits, ankle torque standard deviation) when standing in baseline conditions or with imposed delays. Data are provided in .mat matlab files (to run with source code).
Instructions for Matlab code and main result figures:
1- Download all data files and ensure they are in the same directory.
2- Open SourceCode_GroupFigures_RasmanEtAl_CommsBio2024.m with Matlab.
3- Open SourceCode_Figure9_RasmanEtAl_CommsBio2024.m with Matlab
4- Make sure Matlab directory is set to the folder where the files are, or add that folder to the path.
5- Run the “GroupFigures” code. All group results for figures 2-7 and S1-S4 will be generated. Matlab will output warning when running exponential fit procedure, but this is expected for the code.
6- Run “Figure9” code. This code will take a while to run through all simulations. The simulation results from Figure 9 will be generated.

Matlab toolboxes required: curve fitting toolbox, statistics and machine learning toolbox
