Breakdown of the superposition principle for electromagnetic fields in neutron scattering (continuation)

DOI

This is a request for a conditional continuation of our experiment on the search for a QED vacuum quantum fluctuation induced asymmetry in polarised-neutron scattering by a lead target. At the time of writing this proposal only two days of data were available. The effect, if present at all, is definitely at least a factor 2-3 smaller than previously anticipated. The search needs to be continued if after completion of the scheduled 20 days of data taking we would be left with an effect at the two sigma level of statistical accuracy.
