NaFe(WO4)2 is similar to the multiferroic MnWO4 in structure and surprisingly also develops a multiferroic low temperature phase in spite of a rather long Fe-Fe interchain distance. However, the underlying mechanism needs to be clarified as the reported collinear magnetic structure may not explain ferroelectric polarisation via the inverse Dzyaloshinski-Moriya effect. Either the published magnetic structure basing on powder data is wrong or a distinct mechanism is active in this multiferroic compound. To answer this question we propose to study the microscopic magnetic structure in detail.
