Tri-unsaturated highly branched isoprenoid (HBI) and hydroxylated glycerol dialkyl glycerol tetraether (OH-GDGT) data from core GeoB25212-3

DOI

The dataset has been obtained from gravity core GeoB25212-3 from the continental slope of West Greenland. The core holds a sedimentary record spanning from the late MIS 3 to the early Holocene. Here we show downcore variations in biomarker lipids, i.e. HBIC25:3 (E) and OH-GDGTs, as well as the calculated RI-OH index and GDGT-2/GDGT-3 values. The focus of this study is laid on the late Henrich Stadial 1 (~16-15 ka BP), which is characterized by unusually high HBIC25:3 (E) concentrations.
