DOI

Abstract: Jasper and Tina start a love relationship. This fact arouses the enthusiasm of their co-workers and the nerves of Jasper’s parents. Tytgat Chocolat needs a solution to save from bankruptcy. To this end, Roman created the “Golden Truffle”, an initiative that ensures short-term profits and avoids the dismissal of the packaging team. The factory situation improves, but the police announce to Katarina and Tina that they must leave the country, and they are arrested.

Details: The beginning of the episode takes place in Jasper’s dream. He is on the karaoke stage in front of three female coworkers with their backs turned. He begins to list some positive characteristics of him, and two of the women turn around, smiling at him. However, there is one of them, Tina, who still turns her back on him. Suddenly, she starts to repeatedly say that she dumps him. Jasper awakes from his nightmare. Her mother, Nikki, is knocking on the door and encourages him to eat something. Jasper gets up from bed and goes to the bathroom. Raoul is there, too and sees how Jasper takes one of his most expensive perfumes and puts on it. Raoul says that he and his mother should know Tina. Jasper feels pressured, and he responds to him that it is too soon for that. Jasper goes to work, and everybody there makes reference to the kiss between Tina and him at the karaoke party. When he arrives in the changing room, he sees Tina. They start to talk, and they both say to each other that they need to have a conversation. In the changing room, everybody is looking at them, so they decide to go outside. There, they talk about his relationship, and they decide to officially start being a couple. Then they start to kiss. In another area of the factory, Roman has to go to a meeting that Andy has convened without Roman’s knowledge. Roman is confused because of that, and he goes to his executive office to attend to it. The meeting has already started, and Mr. Müller, a market analyst, is projected and streamed on the office wall. He encourages Tytgat Chocolat firm to expand its distribution to Germany through complete automation of the packaging area. Roman starts to feel nervous, and he gets up from the table. He looks through the window while the rest of the members are greedily negotiating. Roman sees through the window that Jasper and Tina are kissing each other outside. After a few seconds, Roman cuts the conversation and establishes that he disagrees with the negotiation because it involves the dismissal of the Packers, which he is not willing to accept. Jasper and Tina are back in the packaging area, and they announce that they are now together in a love relationship. The Packers applaud and cheer them on. With excitement, Django throws up in the air his little glitter ball. Katarina goes outside the factory to see her brother. He arrives in a car accompanied by another man from Kosovo, who informs Katarina that she and her daughter must leave the Schengen area as soon as possible if they do not want to be deported to Kosovo. Katarina refuses to accept that, and she leaves the car angrily. Roman is in the hall of the factory and sees Katarina pass by without greeting him. Suddenly, he looks at the television in the hall, where employers can upload photos online, and he sees that Crispjn is uploading a photo of Django playing in the packaging area. He goes there immediately and finds his employees playing. He tells the packing team that they have no idea about what is coming and that they have to produce more. He forbids the presence of toys and takes Django’s glitter ball with him. At night, Roman is at home, and he can not sleep. He gets up from bed and, goes to his mother’s room and finds her looking at an old photo album of the enterprise Tytgat Chocolat. In the album, there is a picture of Indra, and Roman starts to remember out loud a past situation in which Indra was generous and gave lots of chocolate cups to a group of children visitors to the factory. This generous gesture inspires Roman, who goes to a shed outside his house in order to develop one idea that the past gesture of his sister has inspired. After some leisure time spent with her friends, Tina comes back home with her mother. When they both arrive, they notice that the door of the entrance has been forced. Inside, they see that all their staff is bagged. Katarina sees a book in which there is a note that says: “Have a good trip!”. The next day, Tina is going to Jasper’s house to have dinner with his family. The parents are puzzled by the displays of affection between their son and Tina, although they try to keep the encounter flowing. Tina mentions the idea of having children and the desire to live independently with Jasper, and these two facts make Jasper’s parents to be worried. After the dinner, Jasper accompanies Tina to the bus stop, but a car shows up. The driver is the same person who met Katarina in the parking lot of the factory. He says that he has been sent by his mother and that he will drive Tina home. She gets into the car. Jasper goes back home and hears that his parents are arguing. Raoul says that Tina is not for Jasper and that she wants things that Jasper will not be able to provide because he is a child. Nikki claims that this is Jasper’s decision and that he is growing up. Jasper, who is on the other side of the door, goes upstairs. Tina arrives home with two tickets to Kosovo that the man who drove her home gave to her. Katarina gets scared and tells her daughter not to go outside alone ever again. Roman is in his house, and he has already finished the design of the project that he created to save the factory benefits: the contest of the “Golden Truffle.” He explains it to his mother and his wife. According to the spirit of generosity linked to the Tytgat tradition, he created this initiative in which three golden truffles will be distributed randomly in the Tytgat boxes. The winner receives an amount of money for ten times his weight in chocolate. The next morning, Roman explains the idea to the rest of the partners of the factory and establishes that the packing will not be automated. Andy does not like this idea, and his grandfather, who is also a partner of the factory, tells him to continue in secret with the development of the project linked to automation and distribution in Germany. Two weeks later, Roman’s initiative was a success, and sales increased. Roman celebrates it by giving each of the packers a box of chocolates from the production batch of the “Golden Truffle”. Later, Tina is called to Roman’s office because the police are there asking for Katarina and her. They say that both the mother and the daughter must voluntarily abandon the country within seven days. Otherwise, they will be deported. After that, Roman´s secretary tells him that the television media is in the factory because there is a first winner. After the prize event, Roman calls his brother Lode and asks for his help as a lawyer in the case of Katarina and Tina. They both go to have dinner and talk about it. In the beginning, Lode is not really convinced about doing it, but suddenly, the packaging team shows up in the restaurant since they went to have some leisure time. Lode looks at Tina, and he and his brother agree on the similarities between Tina and her dead sister, Indra. After some thought, Lode decides to help Katarina and her daughter. A few days later, Lode goes to Katarina´s house and talks with her about their legal situation. Lode asks Katarina about their previous situation in Kosovo, but she refuses to testify. In the factory, Roman delivers the second prize. Lode informs him that there is no choice for Katarina because of her ambiguous past, of which the Belgian police are well aware. Louise and Nikki are at home, and the phone rings. It is Jasper, and he tells her parents that he is not going back home that day because he will spend the night at Tina´s. His parents get nervous and ask Jasper to pass the phone to Katarina. They try to make sure that they will be under her supervision. Despite this, Louise does not want Jasper to sleep there, but Nikki agrees on the phone and hangs up. After the phone call, both parents watch the TV news, and they find out that Tina and Katarina are at risk of deportation. After that, Roman shows up on the news, and he calls for a demonstration the next day in the factory to demand the non-deportation of his two workers. That night, Jasper and Tina sleep together. The next morning, Jasper goes back to his home. He sees his father in the garden. There, Louise reminds his son of the failure of his previous partners and questions his feelings, saying that he is too young to know what he wants. Jasper asks him when he know that he loves Nikki, and Louise responds that he knew when he was 24, to which Jasper replies: “Dad, I am 23”. On the day of the demonstration, Louise and Jasper go to pick up Tina and Katarina to go there together. When they arrive, they see a police van. Tina and her mother are being arrested. Jasper runs to the van and looks at Tina from outside. They both are scared and in shock. The van starts to move, and Jasper stares at it, driving away.
