Nonlinear evolution of unstable solar inertial modes: The case of viscous modes on a differentially rotating sphere

DOI

The animations in the directory represent the time evolution of the radial vorticity field in a two-dimensional differentially rotating spherical system at three Ekman numbers in two reference frames, namely, the Carrington reference frame and the frame of m = 1 mode. The corresponding snapshot at T = 120 year is shown in Fig. 4 in the paper "Nonlinear evolution of unstable solar inertial modes: The case of viscous modes on a differentially rotating sphere" by Muneeb Mushtaq et al.
