Double-Curved Self-Shaping Wood Chair: Geometry, Fabrication, and Performance Data

This dataset documents the geometry, fabrication, structural performance, and self-shaping process of a double-curved wooden chair shell prototype. It contains design geometry, fabrication files, 3D scan data, structural-performance documentation, interval photographs, and image metadata.

The dataset supports the documentation and validation of a material-driven computational design workflow for self-shaping wood furniture.

01_GEOMETRY contains the native Rhino model and STEP export of the chair shell design geometry, as well as OBJ mesh scans of the shaped prototype before and after locking.

02_FABRICATION contains the fabrication geometry in native Rhino and STEP formats, documenting the layout of the active and restrictive layer boards.

03_SELF_SHAPING_DOCUMENTATION contains 1,111 interval photographs documenting the self-shaping process and a CSV file with image metadata. The image capture period is 03/03/2026 17:42 to 11/03/2026 10:42.
