Effects of Immunonutrition in Advanced HIV Disease: a Randomized Placebo Controlled Clinical Trial

After 48 weeks of immunonutrition in HIV-infected individuals starting ART at advanced disease, most of T cell, inflammation and bacterial translocation markers improved similarly in the active and control groups. The clear immunological benefits of ART are not enhanced by nutritional strategies targeting the GALT and the microbiota.
