This dataset presents a CaCO3 record from IODP Site 383-U1543 in the Southeast Pacific. The carbonate record covers the last 8 Mrys (average resolution 0.33 ka) and dates back to the late Miocene. The drill cores were recovered during IODP 383 expedition "Dynamics of Pacific Antarctic Circumpolar Current (DYNAPACC)" with R/V JOIDES Resolution in 2019 (54°35.06ʹS, 76°40.59ʹW; 3,860 m water depth; Lamy et al., 2021). The content of CaCO3 was determined by a linear calibration between Ca intensities (X-ray fluorescence (XRF) scanning with an Avaatech XRF Core Scanner) and discrete shipboard CaCO3 measurements performed during IODP Expedition 383 (Lamy et al., 2021; doi:10.14379/iodp.proc.383.2021).
