Investigating the vortex lattice in the multi-gap non-centrosymmetricsuperconductor BiPd

DOI

BiPd is a superconductor with a non-centrosymmetric crystal structure, so the superconducting order parameter has both singlet and triplet nature. We have very high quality single crystals, with which we have obtained dHvA, muSR and point-contact spectroscopy results, which indicate strong multi-band and/or multi-gap effects on the type-II superconductivity.Previous SANS experiments (internal beamtime at ILL, PSI) show a clear signal at low fields and low temperatures and notably the presence of an Intermediate Mixed State along the (010) direction. This time, we wish to do a follow up study with large high quality single crystals with field oriented along (100).
