Geochemical analyses from laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry of IODP Site 395-U1564 and Site 395C-U1564

We present an inorganic geochemical dataset from International Ocean Discovery Program (IODP) Site U1564, located on the Gardar Drift in the North Atlantic Ocean, a major contourite drift shaped by deep-water circulation processes (Parnel-Turner et al., 2025). Sediment cores were recovered during IODP Expeditions 395C (June-August 2021) and 395 (June-August 2023). In 2024, trace element compositions were determined by laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) on low-dilution fusion glass beads, following the analytical procedures of Johnson et al. (1999) and Conrey et al. (2023). These analyses were performed on the same fused glass beads previously used for wavelength-dispersive XRF (WDXRF) analysis (Ibrahim and Patterson, 2026). The resulting trace element concentrations provide a geochemical reference framework for Site U1564.
