Osmium isotopes were measured in marine sediments from IODP Site U1536 in the Scotia Sea and in proximal bedrock samples located throughout West Antarctica obtained from the Polar Rock Repository. Sediment samples span ~500–1250 ka, while bedrock samples range from Cenozoic to Precambrian. All materials were digested using inverse aqua regia and analyzed by thermal ionization mass spectrometry and secondary electron multiplier.
