The project was set up with the purpose of examining the relative importance of housing choice and constraint in the pattern of ethnic residence in Bedford. Residential careers, preferences, experiences and outcomes of minority (Asian, West African and Italian) and indigenous groups competing within the public and private housing sectors of the town were compared.
