Danish Meteorological Institute Qaanaaq Winter Observatory, Automatic Weather Station measuring temperatures, radiation, and winds (2015-2023)

DOI

The Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) Qaanaaq Winter Observatory (QWO) data set consists of Automatic Weather Station (AWS) measurements from stations located on sea ice off shore at Qaanaaq in Nortwestern Greenland. The data consists of 10 years of winter observations from 3 different AWS'. The stations have measured surface temperature, air temperature, longwave radiation, shortwave radiation, wind speed, relative humidity, and snow depth from sea ice. The data is a fiducial reference measurements dataset and is part of the ArcticPASSION programme. The station ID in the filename (DMI-QWO1, DMI-QWO2, DMI-QWO3) corresponds to the station/datalogger used for observations in that file. DMI-QWO1 is a CR1000, DMI-QWO2 a CR1000x, and DMI-QWO3 is a mini CR1000x mainly measuring a few temperatures. All these instruments are Campbell Scientific products.
