Occurrence of high-temperature ferromagnetism (HTFM) in transition metal oxide nanostructures in which the metal is nominally nonmagnetic appears as one of the most intriguing research topics in material science nowadays. However, despite the great body of research performed to date in this type of systems (both doped and undoped), there is still a strong controversy regarding its origin and whether ferromagnetism is intrinsic. In this context, we have deposited ZnO/ZnS multilayers, where all the elements are non-magnetic, observing HTFM. Work on nanoparticles have proved the magnetisc polarisation of the ZnO in the presence of thiols (S-based organic molecules). Our aim here is to measure the magnitude of the magnetic moment and thickness of the ZnO polarised layer.
