Anopheles gambiae strain:G3 Transcriptome or Gene expression

Anopheles gambiae is a primary vector of human malaria in sub-Saharan Africa. Control of the disease depends heavily on the use of insecticides, but emergence of resistance in mosquito populations threatens effectiveness of the insecticidal tools. Novel control strategies are urgently needed and to meet this challenge a better understanding of the mosquito biology is necessary. This study was undertaken to get first insight into early sex-specific developmental processes in An. gambiae.
