A X-ray Raman Scattering Investigation of Charge Transfer Dynamics

DOI

The purpose of the proposed project is to advance our understanding of correlated electron dynamics when a one-particle approximation fails. The process to be studied is charge transfer (CT) excitation in a transition metal oxide. The spectral system to be investigated, rutile titanium dioxide's L2 and L3 edge CT satellites can be readily probed in the unexplored realm of short distances with the momentum transfer that can be provided at ID20.
