DE - Das vorliegende Foto-Korpus von Linguistic Landscapes in der Republik Moldau; enthält insgesamt 1108 Fotografien, die die Linguistic Landscapes von wichtigen kommerziellen Zentren in der Republik Moldau, genauer gesagt in Chişinău, Bălţi und Făleşti, dokumentieren. Die lokalen Zeichen wurden im August 2018 erhoben und bildeten die Grundlage für das Masterarbeitsprojekt mit dem Titel "Signage in Commercial Areas - Visual Representations of the Multilingual Moldovan Society. A Linguistic Landscape Study from Chişinău, Bălţi and Făleşti (Republic of Moldova)". Die Fotografien zeigen Bilder von oft mehrsprachigen Werbeschildern auf Märkten und in Einkaufsstraßen.
Neben den Bildern wird eine csv-Datei mit den folgenden Annotationskategorien für jedes Foto archiviert: Sprache(n), EV-Score (in Anlehnung an Botterman, 2011, S. 15-19), Autor:innenschaft (top-down/bottom-up), Größe/Haltbarkeit des Schildes und Inhalt/Thema. Die Namen der Fotos entsprechen den IDs, die in der Spalte "Location" der Annotation angegeben sind, wobei das Schema "Location-Akronym_ID-Nummer" verwendet wird. "B" steht für Bălţi, "Bo" für Sector Botanica (Chişinău), "C" für Sector Centru (Chişinău) und "F" für Făleşti. Obwohl das ursprüngliche Korpus aus 1113 Items bestand und 15 Bilder aus Gründen des Datenschutzes von diesem öffentlichen Fotokorpus ausgeschlossen wurden, sind die Annotationen zu diesen Fotos in der vorliegenden csv-Datei enthalten.

EN - This Moldovan Linguistic Landscapes Photo Corpus contains a total of 1,108 photographs documenting linguistic landscapes of main commercial areas in the Republic of Moldova, more precisely in Chişinău, Bălţi and Făleşti. Local signage was surveyed in August 2018 and formed the basis for the master’s thesis project entitled “Signage in Commercial Areas – Visual Representations of the Multilingual Moldovan Society. A Linguistic Landscape Study from Chişinău, Bălţi and Făleşti (Republic of Moldova)”. The photographs include images of often times multilingual commercial signage in open market places and shopping streets.
Alongside the images, a csv file is archived with the following annotation categories for each photo: language(s), EV score (adapted from Botterman, 2011, pp. 15-19), authorship (top-down/bottom-up), size/durability of the sign and content/topic. The photographs’ names correspond with the IDs given in the location column of the annotation, using the pattern “location acronym_ID number”. “B” stands Bălţi, “Bo” for Sector Botanica (Chişinău), “C” for Sector Centru (Chişinău) and “F” for Făleşti. Although the original corpus consisted of 1,113 items and 15 photographs were excluded from this open photo corpus for reasons of personal data protection, the annotations for these photographs are included in the present csv file.

DE - Linguistic Landscape Studies. Innerhalb von abgesteckten Gebieten wurden alle schriftlichen Zeichen mithilfe von Fotografien erhoben: In Chişinău im Sector Centru, rund um den Piața Centrala (Zentralen Markt) und im Sector Botanica rund um den Piața Dacia (Dacia/Daker Markt). In Bălți stand die Strada Independenței (Straße der Unabhängigkeit) als Haupteinkaufsstraße sowie der dortige Markt im Fokus. In Făleşti wurde die Strada Mihai Eminescu (Mihai-Eminescu-Straße) als die zentrale Einkaufsstraße dokumentiert.
EN - Linguistic Landscape Studies. Within a pre-defined radius all written signs were surveyed, using photographs. In Chişinău in Sector Centru around the Piața Centrala (central market) and in Sector Botanica around Piața Dacia (Dacia market). In Bălț the focus was on Strada Independenției (Independent Street) as the central shopping street and the adjacent open-air market. In Făleşti the central shopping street Strada Mihai Eminescu (Mihai Eminescu Street) was documented.
