The shared data concerns the analysis of samples produced by bead milling cell disruption of Tetraselmis fragile batch and resistant batch. The analysis focus on cell count for cell disruption calculations, dry matters of the suspension before and after centrifugation, granulometry of the lysate and the supernatant, sugar content in the extract and entire biomass, protein content in the extract and entire biomass. Such analysis allowed the comparison of the cell composition of the two cell types (fragile and resistant) , their resistance to cell disruption, the protein release and the generation of fine debris during the milling. Relevant differences between the two batches of the same strain have been highlighted.
ProFuture is a European-funded Horizon 2020 research project aiming to scale up microalgae production and prepare the market uptake of microalgae proteins as ingredients for innovative and sustainable food and feed products. The project will last for 4 years (2019-2023) and it is coordinated by the Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology (IRTA) in Spain.
