Feeding habit of euphausiids in the tropical Indian and Pacific Oceans

This project aimed to characterize the feeding habit of euphausiids in the tropical Indian and Pacific Oceans. The metabarcoding data of 18S V9 region were obtained from dissected gut content of euphausiids and filtered seawater samples from this water area. Euphausiids samples were collected by MOHT from 500 m depth. The gut content composition of euphausiids were first compared with the environmental community structure reflected by the filtered seawater metabarcoding. Primary prey items of euphausiid species with different distribution patterns were then compared with each other.
