This dataset presents sedimentological and geochemical data from a sediment core collected from González Fjord, Baker-Martínez fjord system (48°S, Chile) with the objective of reconstructing temperature and precipitation variability over the past 500 years in central-western Patagonia. The 64-cm long Irene core was recovered onboard the L/C Sur-Austral during October 2014 using a Rumohr corer (internal diameter 72 mm) and then sliced at 1 cm intervals. Samples were stored in bags and kept at -20 °C prior to analysis. In the laboratory, samples were freeze-dried and manually grounded with a PVC pestle for subsequent geochemical analysis.
