Structure and Reaction Kinetics of Phenylacetylene Hydrogenation in a Porous Titania Catalyst

DOI

This project aims to study the confinement of phenyl acetylene in the pores of mesoporous titania catalysts for the conversion into styrene. Specifically, neutron scattering will be used to monitor the structural changes during the reaction and thus elucidate both the kinetics of the process as well as the distribution of the liquid within the pore. This will be coupled with in-situ measurements using NMR spectroscopy to continuously monitor independently the reaction.
