Optimization of neu_ART neutron imaging set-up

DOI

In the frame of neu_ART project, financially supported by Regione Piemonte (Italy), we are investigating the possibility to perform neutron radiography and tomography of artistic artefacts and archeological find using a system based on a compact fast neutron generator. This proposal aim to study the performance of different scintillator screens in order to optimize our imaging set-up for both fast and thermal neutron beams. A neutron tomography of an artistic sample will be realized at INES using the set-up already installed coupled with the rotary stage developed in the frame of neu_ART project. Some improvement of the imaging system already installed at INES will be tested:- Installation of a higher dynamic range camera.- Automation of the 3D movement system and synchronization with the imaging apparatus and the beam monitor system.
