(Table 1) Mineralogy and stable isotopic composition of diagenic carbonates from ODP Leg 164 sites

DOI

Sediment depth is given in mbsf. In situ temperatures have been deduced from the downhole measurements (Paull, Matsumoto, Wallace, et al., 1996, doi:10.2973/odp.proc.ir.164.1996). The d18O values of dolomite and siderite have been corrected for the differential phosphoric acid fractionation (Sharma and Clayton, 1965, doi:10.1016/0016-7037(65)90011-6; Carothers et al., 1988, doi:10.1016/0016-7037(88)90302-X). The d18O values of the diagenetic waters in equilibrium with the diagenetic dolomite, siderite, and calcite have been deduced from the 18O values of the carbonates and from the alpha values calculated for the in situ temperatures.
