Mi.Core

Introduction: Recovery from COVID-19 is unique and unpredictable. The post COVID-19 symptoms affect all domains of life from personal health, family life, work and education, social life, quality of life and even countries healthcare infrastructure, health burden and economy. This study aims to study the impact of Mindfulness based cognitive activities for COVID 19 rehabilitation (Mi.Core)- anosmia, ageusia, concentration and mood. Method: Post-test with control quasi-experimental research design was adopted for the present study. COVID-19 patients (N= 142) in the age range of 18+ to 45 years pan India who had completed 25 days from first identified symptoms were recruited using an author constructed self-reporting checklist for COVID- 19 after effects. Results: The mean age of the participants was 32.99 years constituting 54.9% males and 45.1% females. It was found that majority of the participants in experimental group receiving Mi.Core reported full recovery from loss of smell (46.0%), loss of taste (56.9%), improved concentration (55.5%) and improved mood (61.9%) as compared to control group where majority reported slight improvement in loss of smell (58.2%), loss of taste (46.0%), improved concentration (49.4%) and improved mood (60.8%). Conclusion and Implication: Psychological interventions like Mi.Core can help in expediting recuperation and rehabilitation post COVID-19. It can further help in reducing the country's health burden.
