muSR study on non-centrosymmetric Ce-based heavy fermion superconductors: CeTGe3 (T=Ni and Ir)

DOI

Recently a handful of non-centrosymmetric Ce-based HF compounds with general formula CeTX3 (T=transition mental and X=Si or Ge) have been reported to exhibit superconductivity (SC) under applied pressure. Very recent high pressure studies show that the orthorhombic CeNiGe3 and the tetragonal CeTSi3 (Co and Ir) exhibit superconductivity under applied pressure, but no superconductivity was observed in the tetragonal CeRhGe3. At ambient pressure these compounds exhibit several magnetic phase transitions, TN1=5.9K and TN2=5.0K for CeNiGe3, TN1=8.7K, TN2=4.7K, TN3=0.7K for CeIrGe3, TN1=21, TN2=18K for CeCCoGe3. We have been given beam time on IN4 and IN6 (at ILL) to investigate the spin dynamics of CeTGe3 compounds. We therefore propose here to investigate magnetic property using muSR of CeTGe3 (T=Ni and Ir) at ambient pressure.
