Solvothermal Synthesis of Hydrophobic Carbon Dots in Reversed Micelles (Raman)

A confocal Raman microscope (Renishaw inVia, UK) with 785 nm NIR laser and power controlled by neutral optical density filters was used. Samples were pipetted on Si substrate with evaporated gold layer (Si-Au). The laser beam was focused through a 50x (Leica N PLAN L, NA 0.5) microscope objective. All spectra were collected using 1.5 mW of laser power, 5 min integration time, 1200 lines/mm grating and Synchroscan mode for seamless spectra stitching. The spectra were acquired using a thermoelectrically cooled CCD detector optimized for near IR. All spectra were collected with WiRE software v. 4.2 (Renishaw, U.K.).

The data are Raman spectra of carbon nanodots (CND) obtained in micellar systems: 1. CND-2B - hexane:brij_L4 micelles (10:3.2 volume ratio) 2. CND-3W - hexane:brij_L4:water reverced micelles (10:3.2:0.5 volume ratio) 3. CND-3DS - hexane:brij_L4:DS micelles (10:3.2:0.5 volume ratio). DS - dextran sulfate 10 mg/mL.

Other samples: 4. BrijL4 - Raman spectrum of surfactant itself 5. Si-Au - Raman spectrum of Si substrate with evaporated gold layer.

Files are both in .txt and .wdf file formats. WDF is Renishaw file format which can be opened not only be Renishaw software WiRE but by open-source software Gwyddion.
