Diffraction 'artifacts' due to shape, size and thickness variation in copper, iron, brass and bronze

DOI

In relation to TOF flight neutrondiffraction experiments conducted on Renaissance sculpture, we are proposing a systematic study of controlled shape, size and thickness effects on copper, iron, brass and bronze artifacts and areplica bronze casts. We would like to understand the origin of double amd multiple diffracton in these objects as well as trying out remedies to prevent double/multiple diffraction (collimation).
