Magnetic structure of layered oxide chalcogenides: Ba2CoO2Cu2Te2 and Sr2CoO3CuSe

DOI

This is an experiment to measure the crystal structures and the thermal evolution of the magnetic structures of two new layered oxide chalcogenides. In Ba2CoO2Cu2Te2 we will explore why the magnetic susceptibility and the relatively small ordered moment contrast with the sulfide and selenide analogues. In Sr2CoO3CuSe we will probe the spin state and long range order for the pyramidal Co3+ ion.
